Company names of the week - F
This is a list of company names with their name origins explained.
Today's Top 5 letter F:
Facebook – name stems from the colloquial name of books given to newly enrolled students at the start of the academic year by university administrations in the US to help students get to know each other better.
Fanta – from the German word Fantasie, meaning "imagination."
Fever-Tree – the company chose the name as it is the colloquial name for the cinchona tree, the bark of which produces quinine.
Fiat – an acronym of Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino (Italian Automobile Factory of Turin)
Fuji – named after Mount Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan
